What is the MATCH MADE MENTORING program?
Are you interested in career development or entrepreneurship? Would you like to to develop your professional skills? Or maybe you would like to share your own expertise and inspire future professionals?
In the joint mentoring program of Kajaani University of Applied Sciences and Kainuu Entrepreneurs, local entrepreneurs and students, teachers, professionals and experts interested in entrepreneurship meet. In the mentoring program you can network, get inspired and get support for your work and entrepreneurial path. The duration of the program is three months (February-May 2025)
The mentoring program focuses on one-on-one meetings between the mentee and the mentor. Mentoring pairs meet between March and May to discuss topics chosen by the mentee, such as entrepreneurship, career development, and skills enhancement. The mentoring pairs decide on the number of meetings and how they are conducted.
Why participate in the mentoring program?
Mentoring benefits both the mentor and the mentee. As a mentor, you gain new perspectives and ideas for your own business or professional work through discussions. You can expand your professional network and connect with talented individuals, professionals, and students in the Kainuu region.
As a mentee, you can gain a better understanding of yourself with the support of a mentor. You can identify and clarify your skills and receive guidance on career planning or business development. A mentor can offer you new perspectives, and their support can help you strengthen your professional self-awareness and confidence.

We are organizing a Mentoring Evening open to everyone on Tuesday 25.2.2025 at 17:00-19:00 the Kaukametsä Auditorium. The event is free of charge. MATCH MADE MENTORING – Mentoring programme schedule and application
Mentors: register as mentor candidates using the form between 31.1.-28.2.2025. Registration is open: Apply here
Mentees search for a suitable mentor candidate and send a mentoring request to their chosen mentor between 1.3.-13.3.2025.

Training session:
A training session held by Suomen Mentorit will be organized for all the participants on Thursday 13.3.25 at 14:00-16:00 on TEAMS. You’ll receive the invitation link via email. The training language is Finnish/English. Mark the date in your calendar already!
Welcome!
The closing event of the programme: Mentoring Brunch on Friday, 16.5.25 at 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Kajaani Kampus.
Mentoring pairs also have the opportunity to participate in “Mentoring Morning Coffee” events at the Kainuu Entrepreneurs’ Business Konttori in Kajaani. These informal gatherings provide a chance to network with other mentoring pairs. The schedule for the morning coffees will be announced later.
The program concludes with a joint mentoring brunch and closing ceremony. During this relaxed event, participants will enjoy brunch while discussing feedback on the program and sharing their experiences.
The mentoring programme is organized by projects co-funded by European Union: Kainuu in all its diversity -project (KAMK), Future entrepreneurs from Kainuu –project (KAMK, City of Kajaani’s Municipal Educational Enterprise and Kainuun Yrittäjät), MAKEA – Promoting Entrepreneurship among non-native speakers in Kainuu and Koillismaa (KAMK) ja Yrittäjyyden ja omistajanvaihdosten edistäminen osana oikeudenmukaista ja vihreää siirtymää (Kainuun Yrittäjät).
